This week's share may include: sweet corn, heirloom tomatoes, peaches, nectarines, onions, green peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, carrots, zucchini, 8 ball zucchini, yellow summer squash, cucumbers, and more.

Please, please, please, soak the broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage in salt water before cooking them. We don't spray them and they have lots of hiding spots so they're bound to come with creeby, crawly friends.

Enjoy the flavors of summer,
Jenni Piper

Are you ever stumped by the contents of your share? Not quite sure what something is or how to prepare it?

We've created a new page of the web site with photos and descriptions of some of the more unusual products at http://www.avalonfarmshomegrown.net/content/4031. If you're ever stumped, please consult this page and drop us a line if you don't see it listed. We want you to be able to use the produce and it helps us to know what to add.

Thanks!

By the way, please be sure to leave large coolers. If you find produce outside of your cooler, please leave another cooler. Shares will continue to grow with sweet corn and melons coming soon.

This weekend's cold nights and frost certrainly didn't help the plants. Luckily we only have pretty hardy plants in the ground. We won't know for a couple of days yet if there was any damage.
